Abel Vázquez began his career in the world of the arts at the age of 16, specializing in different techniques, including painting (watercolor, acrylic, oil, mixed media), sculpture (bronze, reclaimed marble) and linoleum engraving. His art is recognized worldwide and collected in several countries such as: Mexico, USA, Japan, New Zealand and Canada.
He currently lives in the city of Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, participating in the cultural movements of the state and exhibiting her most recent work in her own gallery “Nahualli, Casa de los Artistas”, together with her family, which also includes the artists Melva Medina, Aura Meztli and Alma Citlalli.
