This work is the representation of an experience Alma Citlalli had on one of her frequent trips to Oaxaca.

A self-taught artist, born in Mexico City, Alma Citlalli has developed as a creator from an early age.
Inspired by geometric shapes and the creation of surreal and fantastic characters with penetrating looks and enigmatic personalities, Alma Citlalli has given life to a long list of beings like the “Elotero” 2/7, who thanks to the depth in the linoleum, acquires a unique perspective of the character.
In a playful and casual way, she ventures into various drawing, painting and engraving techniques. Her work in painting wooden furniture stands out, as well as her performance in linoleum engraving and amate prints. Her research into new materials, and her interest in utilitarian art is constant.
The themes addressed by the artist Alma Citlalli in her work are fresh and playful, qualities that are also part of her personality. Among the applications that the artist Alma Citlalli uses, are also textiles and ceramics.
Alma Citlalli’s art is collected globally. She currently lives in the city of Mérida, Yucatán. Exhibiting her most recent work in her own gallery “Nahualli, Casa de los Artistas”, with her family; the artists Melva Medina, Aura Meztli and Abel Vázquez.
