History behind the artwork

This painting tells us about the relationship between a woman and hummingbirds, as messengers and protectors of the people who take care of the land.

The artist has as great themes of inspiration, those whom tell magical stories where it involves the communion of the human being with nature. Abel is originally from a small town in Oaxaca, where he lived with his grandmother (a peasant and healer), and his aunts, who were excellent storytellers that motivated this and countless other paintings.

Technically, the work of this painting is based on acrylic transparencies, having an endless number of superimposed layers, achieving a very special luminosity.
