History behind the artwork
This is, for Abel, a family portrait. It clearly depicts him and his two daughters. In the central-superior part, there is a head in the shape of a dog or “nahual”, which is the representation of the guiding and protective mother of the whole family.
This painting is wrapped in symbols of magic and communion. It portrays the harmony, solidarity and accompaniment of the family.
