History behind the artwork

This painting is the representation of the cosmos and the human being within it, fragmented, divided, distributed.

It is like seeing oneself in a game of mirrors, reflecting the complexity of being. The thread that can be broken with a cut and will take you to other planes.

The mystery of life and what lies between it and the infinite. What persists is the symbol: the red ink of the cactus, with the “grana cochinilla”; that pigment that emerges from the hidden parasite. Life on the other side, emerging from the arid, enigmatic and creating something surprising that remained hidden in the rupture.

Fireflies are important too. Abel used to see them in the village, lying on his back in the field and confusing them with stars. This is also a symbol of the ethereal and eternal.
