History behind the artwork

In 1994, Abel’s first daughter, Aura Meztli, was born. Like every father, fatherhood filled him with reasons to be inspired and to portray the feelings that his daughter made him have.

Everything was a discovery for Meztli and Abel.

Living with his daughters made him work in many new pieces.

This one in particular, is from the series; “Los gritones” (The Screamers), where he recreates a memory where his daughter is begging for a pet, when suddenly a pigeon flies and stands on her head, causing great surprise to both of them.
