History behind the artwork

In 2011, the master was restoring his gallery-house, climbing a ladder 7 meters off the ground. An oversight caused him to fall and hurt his body, suffering several fractures and the dislocation of his left shoulder. The accident was very loud, his head hit the floor and he had to be urgently hospitalized.

He underwent surgery to reconstruct his joint, and after some time, this fact motivated him to make an awareness through drawing. Later he made one of the most iconic paintings of his creation, which he sketched during the year of rehabilitation.

In the painting he paints himself as a fallen angel. This angel also represents the spirit of his older daughter as an accompanying soul. At the base of the painting, there’s his youngest daughter with open arms, watching over her father’s fall.

This second figure is also linked to his interest in protecting the earth and its benefits, because of his love for nature.

This painting was created by the artist to be hung in two directions. The first one lets you see the scene of the fallen angel, but if you hang it upside down, you will look at his youngest daughter at the top, with her arms open as if she’s ready to take care of the cosmos, water and life. Now the angel takes the spirit of his older daughter, who likes to dance. She is dancing among stars and fireflies.
